Custom Yurt Homes are produced custom to order. Larger projects are available as well as alternative building techniques such as strawbale yurts, earthbag yurts, and metal yurts. Doors and windows can be any size and shape. Door options include fan light, half light, full light, and french doors. Just let us know what you want and we can hunt it down for less cost at a locally owned window and door overstock facility.
Out smaller yurts (16′ and under) can be mounted on farm trailers for transport around a property. They will not be road legal due to width, but if you have a large property and a tractor or larger truck, you can pull it out into the woods for summer and back by the house for winter (or vise versa). Not much changes, just need a good trailer and some longer wooden beams to mount the platform on. The SIPS panel platform is recommended due to its floor rigidity.
Totally custom options are available at cost for your pleasure. We have put up yurts with cedar shingle roofs, roofs with a “brim”, and many other options. We would like to do our first yurt in thatch, so if that is what you want, we will cut you a deal. Also the first straw bale yurt order will get a wonderful package with complete installation help. We want to keep innovating and so we welcome your suggestions and comments. But remember, no toxic products or harmful materials, either to health or the environment!
